Isuzu Introduces All-New 2.2L Diesel And 8-Speed Auto In Thailand

The Isuzu D-Max and MU-X have a new engine and gearbox, starting in the Thai market.

Isuzu has raised the bar with the latest updates to its flagship models, the Isuzu D-Max and MU-X, now featuring a newly developed RZ4F 2.2L diesel engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. This is a follow-up to the 1.9L diesel that was first released prior to the pandemic. Officially launching in Thailand on November 28, these upgrades promise enhanced performance, fuel efficiency, and driving experience.

Isuzu D-Max 2.2 Diesel

The new RZ4F 2.2L diesel engine is at the heart of these updates. Delivering 120 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque, the engine has been fine-tuned for improved combustion and optimized turbo settings. These enhancements not only boost power but also reduce noise and ensure the durability Isuzu vehicles are renowned for.

When paired with the new 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT), the drivetrain offers:

Better start-up capability for seamless take-offs.

Smoother acceleration across various driving conditions.

Improved fuel economy, making the D-Max and MU-X even more cost-effective to operate.

The transmission features optimized gear ratios and advanced lockup dampers, perfectly complementing the new engine.
