Zeekr X Crossover & Zeekr 009 MPV On Display At Sunway Pinnacle Right Now

The Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 are both available for the public to check out at Sunway Pinnacle between 8am-7pm.

Zeekr, the premium sub-brand of Geely, is already in Malaysia with Sentinel Automotive as their brand guardian. This is the same company that represents Lotus Cars in Malaysia. Today, they invited us to check the two vehicles out for ourselves at a public display in Sunway Pinnacle. The Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 are both located at the main lobby of the Sunway Pinnacle building and are available for members of the public to check out between 8am and 7pm.

What Sets Zeekr Apart?

Zeekr marries the best of European automotive and design expertise and Chinese battery and car production capabilities. The design team is lead by Stefan Sielaff, who has years of experience at Audi, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. Their brand design centre is based in Gothenburg, Sweden where all Zeekr vehicles are crafted. R&D is conducted in China and in Sweden and the European headquarters is situated in Amsterdam. The Zeekr intelligent factory in China is state of the art with high-tech production techniques and 5G implementation for the best possible quality.

Zeekr X

The Zeekr X is an electric cross over that’s built on the same SEA platform as the smart #1 and #3. It will be brought into Malaysia in two variants – Premium and Flagship AWD. This is targeted at the premium market and pricing is anticipated to be below RM180,000. The booking fee is RM2,000 and is fully refundable. The Zeekr X supports 150kW DC Fast Charging and has up to 440km of range on the WLTP cycle. On the dual motor variant, you get 315kW and 543Nm of torque for a century sprint time of 3.8 seconds.

We got to check the car out up close. While it is quite compact, there’s no denying the design is upmarket and high-tech. There are hidden door handles, frameless doors, and loads of details in the cabin for both front and rear occupants to discover along the way. Equipment includes a huge panoramic sunroof, ice block ambient lighting, 14.6″ central display, a 13-speaker Yamaha sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay + Android Auto, 50W wireless charing, augmented reality heads-up display, full ADAS Level 2+ driver assistance (5 cameras, 5 radars) including:

The Zeekr X will be available in 5 colours – Crystal White, Mist Grey, Grid Grey, Palace Beige and Pine Green. The interior is finished in Charcoal black with stone grey trim and metallic rose gold finishings.

Zeekr 009

This is a flagship people mover aimed at giving the upcoming Denza D9 a run for its money. It’s being brought in as both a 7-seater and a full-spec 6-seater with pricing anticipated to be below RM370,000.

Zeekr is going all-out in terms of equipment. You get ‘Sofaro’ first-class seats upholstered in Nappa leather. The 6-seater version has a hidden seat tray wrapped in the same Nappa leather too. You’ll also find an 8.6L fridge which can also be used to warm food. The front 2 rows feature massage and ventilation functionality. The 3rd row of seats get manual sunblinds and a one-touch easy entry and exit function.

The powertrain of the Zeekr 009 is a dual electric motor setup with 450kW and 693Nm of torque enabling a 0-100km/h time of just 4.5 seconds. There’s a huge 116kWh battery enabling 582 km of range on the WLTP cycle. 150kW DC Fast charging enables quick top-ups from 10% to 80% in half an hour. There’s dual chamber air suspension with adjustable height and damping rate. At 120km/h, the cabin is no more than 64.5 dB in volume.

Inside, you’ll find a 15.05″ OLED infotainment unit plus a 17″ OLED for the rear passengers.

The driver gets a 35.95″ AR Heads up display projection. There’s a HD camera in the second row to keep an eye on all occupants from the front and a smart bar for climate control and seat function controls in the second row. a 30-speaker Yamaha speaker system is featured.

Other equipment worth mentioning includes a Matric LED projection system with Adaptive Driving Beam, Intelligent Zoning Lighting, LED DRLS, 360-degree parking system with automated Guard/vehicle Safety Protection System and digital video recording.
