Sime Darby Appointed Official BYD Importer And BYD Malaysia As Denza Distributor

BYD is going all out in Malaysia and it is not doing it alone

BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. recently held an official signing ceremony for the Denza Importation and Distribution Agreement at Sunway Resort Hotel. During this event, Sime Darby Auto Imports Sdn. Bhd. was designated as the official importer, while BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. took on the role of official distributor for Denza, BYD’s premium sub-brand, in Malaysia.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in the collaboration between BYD and Sime Darby, enhancing their relationship and expanding Sime Darby’s role as an official importer.

Moreover, the agreement signifies Denza’s entry into the Malaysian market, where the luxury electric vehicle (EV) sub-brand aims to introduce advanced technology and a superior driving experience. With Denza, BYD seeks to diversify and elevate the EV landscape in Malaysia, offering innovative solutions that cater to the growing demand for premium electric vehicles.

Liu also noted that Malaysia’s increasing interest in sustainable mobility aligns perfectly with Denza’s introduction, promising to enhance customer experiences through premium features and technology. He believes that Denza will set new benchmarks for luxury EVs in Malaysia.

On top of that, adding to this sentiment, Mr. Dennis Ho, Managing Director of Assembly and Strategic Businesses at Sime Darby Motors, remarked on the significance of this agreement. He highlighted the potential for strengthening the partnership with BYD, focusing on expanding their presence in the EV market while diversifying Sime Darby’s EV portfolio.

Ho emphasised their commitment to playing a crucial role in accelerating the growth of electric vehicles in Malaysia, believing that Denza will be a key component of this initiative.

What’s more, Mr. Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., also reinforced the brand’s dedication to improving Malaysia’s EV ecosystem. He articulated BYD’s mission to make electric vehicles accessible and appealing, stating that the introduction of Denza would provide Malaysian consumers with a luxurious yet sustainable option.

Zhao pointed out that the rapid adoption of EVs in Malaysia reflects the country’s commitment to a greener future, and he is proud that BYD can contribute to this transformation through diverse offerings that meet the demands of an evolving market. So do you reckon BYD will have a good chance here with both BYD and Denza to worry about.
