Remember When Snoop Dogg Asked Elon Musk For A Free Tesla?

Elon Musk maintains that everyone pays full price for a Tesla, but is Snoop exempted?

In a video posted by Snoop Dogg in April 2022, the rapper humorously reached out to Musk, saying, “Nephew, I need a Tesla. Still waiting. Do I have to buy one? Or you gonna send me one? It’s the D-O-Dub, cuz. Get to it and do it, and congrats on Twitter.” So did Snoop get a free car despite Musk’s previous statements?

Despite Snoop’s playful request, Musk was quick to reaffirm his pricing policy, “Everyone pays full price for a Tesla, including me.” This candid response highlights Musk’s commitment to a transparent pricing strategy, even when it comes to friends and family. So how did Snoop’s request go?

Moreover, Snoop Dogg is already part of the Tesla family, having purchased a white Model X SUV back in 2017. His continued enthusiasm for the brand, however, illustrates the celebrity’s penchant for luxury and innovation. The Model X, known for its falcon-wing doors and impressive range, suits Snoop’s larger-than-life persona perfectly.

Musk’s approach to discounts has been a consistent theme in his dealings. His mother, Maye Musk, once shared that when Elon bought her a Tesla, he did so at full price. This anecdote reinforces the idea that Musk believes everyone should pay the same amount, irrespective of their relationship with him.

“Everybody’s family when you buy a Tesla,” he famously quipped when a family member inquired about a potential discount. This philosophy of fairness in pricing also has implications beyond celebrity interactions, it reflects Musk’s broader vision for the automotive industry.

On top of that, by maintaining a uniform pricing model, Tesla aims to cultivate an environment where each customer feels they are receiving equal treatment, fostering brand loyalty and trust. The interaction between Snoop Dogg and Musk exemplifies how modern celebrity culture intersects with groundbreaking technology.

One thing to keep in mind is that Snoop Dogg already owned a Tesla at that point, specifically a white Model X which he bought in 2017. So why then did he “need” another one? Was his original model X problematic? Perhaps it broke down or was used for recreational activities and no longer viable for use?

In conclusion, while Snoop Dogg might have to stick to his own purchasing power for his next electric car, the exchange highlights Musk’s commitment to his brand’s principles. Despite this we know Tesla has been throwing around discount after discount lately so perhaps Musk may offer Snoop a discounted Tesla soon.
