Recon Porsche Taycan Same Price As NEW Audi RS e-tron GT

Prices for a new Audi RS e-tron is the same as a used AP import Taycan with no factory warranty

Right now premium electric car buyers will be saving a huge amount of money as Audi in Malaysia (PHS Automotive Malaysia) has reduced the selling price of their seductive looking and very fast RS e-tron from its launch price of RM792,990 to just RM399,000. Yes, you do not need to get your eyes checked this is the asking price now, RM399,000!

In case you you forgot, the Audi e-tron range of electric cars were first introduced to Malaysia in February 2023. The e-tron GT quattro arrived with twin motors for the base model with 469PS and 630Nm of torque. A figure which jumps to 523hp and 640Nm when launch control is activated, hence netting a century sprint time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 245km/h.

Moving onto the more powerful RS e-tron GT, this particular variant delivers an even healthier combined power output of 590hp and 830Nm of torque, which then increases to 637hp on overboost. This equates to a 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds with launch control engaged, and an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h.

Meanwhile, in June 2023 the Audi e-tron GT range arrived officially in Malaysia and ready for sale.

The seductive looking electric Audi e-tron GT quattro selling price started from RM587,990 to RM599,990, the e-tron GT quattro with Dynamic Package was from RM666,990 and RM678,990 and of course, the iconic Audi RS e-tron GT was priced from RM792,990 to RM807,990.

Then in November 2023, the selling prices were reduced to compete with influx of rivals from Europe and RS e-tron retailed for RM699,990. Meanwhile the e-tron GT quattro with the Dynamic Package which originally cost RM666,990 moved down to a reasonable RM599,990 which was a full RM100k discount.

Hold on to your hat as just a week ago on the 7th of October 2024, Audi (PHS Automotive Malaysia) announced special pricing starting with RM399,990 for the Audi e-tron GT Dynamic Package, RM499,990 for the RS e-tron GT and RM384,990 for the Q8 e-tron 50 Sportback which is a SUV Coupe.

This means, AP (PEKEMA) holders who have imported in USED (without factory warranty and after sales) Porsche Taycans that are priced about RM399k or so will have a tough time trying to convince well informed Malaysian buyers to pay the same price for a used EV when a brand new Audi e-tron with full after sales and factory warranty is priced the same which is RM399k.

Incidentally, if you think about it, this new RM399k asking price for a 4 door supercar is so much lower than the 0-100km/h 3.0 seconds McLaren Artura which retails for RM1,050,000 before taxes are included.

Then there is the V12 Lamborghini Revuelto HPEV that accelerates in just 2.5 seconds and is priced from around RM2.5 million before duties, import taxes and options which makes the Audi e-tron RS GT price of RM499,990 about 80 percent or so better to own over the Revuelto.

So, you know anyone about to buy a USED recon Porsche Taycan, please share this news with them to save them a ‘bucket full’ of Ringgit.
