Mercedes-Benz Extends Support For Nicol David Organisation Third Year Running
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is committed as a founding partner for the third year in a row
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to the Nicol David Organisation (NDO) by extending its partnership for the “Little Legends” and “Ibu Legends” programs with a generous contribution of RM100,000. This renewal marks the third year of collaboration, highlighting Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s dedication to education and sustainability.
In its mission to empower communities through quality education, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is focused on fostering children’s understanding of sustainability. The aim is to inspire young individuals to actively participate in environmental preservation for future generations. This year, the initiative also includes a new aspect that connects with mothers, educating them on climate change and sustainability, while enhancing their parenting knowledge.
Moreover, Datuk Nicol Ann David, Founder and Head Coach of NDO, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the importance of nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards. “Our ongoing partnership with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia illustrates our shared commitment to inspiring both ‘Little Legends’ and ‘Ibu Legends’ to embrace sustainability and take active steps to safeguard our planet.”
The partnership was highlighted during a handover ceremony that coincided with the Ibu Legends workshop, hosted at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s office. This event brought together 35 mothers participating in the new program, offering insights into effective parenting and discussions on climate change.
Attendees also had the chance to test drive the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicles, capturing memorable moments through photos and videos. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia plans to conduct four specialised workshops for the “Little Legends” program, addressing essential topics such as global warming, pollution, and sustainable farming practices.
On top of that, an exciting segment from the Mobile Kids program will educate children about road safety in an engaging manner. These initiatives aim to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed for a sustainable future while promoting safer public spaces.
Overall, Mercedes-Benz remains committed to an integrated business strategy centred on sustainability, in line with its Ambition 2039 goals to advance sustainable mobility and reduce its environmental impact. The Nicol David Organisation, founded by Datuk Nicol David and Mariana de Reyes, aims to empower youth through sport and education.
The Little Legends program offers after-school activities for mid to low-income families in Kuala Lumpur, including squash training, English tutoring, life skills workshops, and nutrition plans. The newly launched Ibu Legends program focuses on empowering mothers, providing free medical check-ups, mental health support, and parenting workshops over a four-month intervention.
