Isuzu D-Max Blade Launched In Australia For RM222k, Malaysia Next?

Will the Isuzu D-Max Blade come to Malaysia to take on the famous Ranger Raptor?

After over three years of development, Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) is launching the D-Max Blade, an off-road crew cab ute designed to meet Australian demands. Set to be available for order on 1 November 2024, it will be priced from AUD76,990 (roughly RM221,675) drive away. So will it come to Malaysia to challenge the ever popular Ford Ranger Raptor?

The Isuzu D-Max Blade has undergone rigorous local testing, including a comprehensive 100,000km durability program across Melbourne and Outback Australia. This ensures exceptional off-road performance and reliability, alongside the D-Max’s well-known features, such as a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity and a payload capacity of 896kg, powered by a 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.

Moreover, Mr. Junta Matsui, Managing Director of Isuzu UTE Australia, emphasised the project’s lengthy development, highlighting partnerships with local engineering firms, particularly Walkinshaw Automotive Group. This collaboration leveraged Walkinshaw’s extensive experience in automotive manufacturing to enhance the Isuzu D-Max’s capabilities.

The Isuzu D-Max Blade targets off-road enthusiasts, families, and adventurers, focusing on ruggedness without sacrificing comfort or versatility. Walkinshaw’s team rigorously evaluated and tested every component, leading to features like a 29mm suspension lift, advanced traction control, and improved wheel and tyre setups for better handling and stability.

In terms of design, the Isuzu D-Max Blade also showcases a striking front grille and wider stance, complemented by off-road enhancements such as a more robust 3.0mm bash plate and a unique recovery point system. It is also equipped with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT tyres, designed for durability and traction in various conditions.

On top of that, the Isuzu D-Max Blade’s aesthetic features satin black accents throughout, enhancing its aggressive look while maintaining brand identity. Inside, it offers a blend of utilitarian and luxury elements, including exclusive Blade trims and distinctive build plates that mark each unit’s uniqueness.

The Isuzu D-Max Blade continues Isuzu’s reputation for value, supported by a network of over 160 dealers and a comprehensive service program, including a six-year warranty and flat-price servicing. With its rugged design and advanced features, the D-Max Blade is poised to become a standout option for Australian drivers looking for adventure.
