Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has officially announced the highly anticipated launch of the sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck, set to hit Malaysian showrooms in October 2024. With an extensive legacy spanning 45 years and global sales reaching 5.6 million units across 150 countries, the 2024 Triton promises to redefine the pickup segment with its bold redesign and enhanced capabilities.
Pricing and Variants
The new Triton lineup caters to diverse customer needs, with the range-topping Triton Athlete estimated to start from RM170,000. MMM has also introduced a new Triton Single Cab variant, starting at an attractive price point of RM102,000. The complete lineup will feature five distinct variants, and customers can now place their bookings nationwide.
Revolutionary Design and Performance
The all-new Triton introduces its Beast Mode design language, encompassing a complete exterior redesign complemented by a sporty interior that prioritizes functionality and enhanced operability. Under the hood, the 2024 Triton Double Cab boasts a powerful new 2.4L two-stage turbo engine that delivers an impressive output of 204PS and a maximum torque of 470Nm. The Single Cab variant comes equipped with a clean and efficient 2.4L engine, offering best-in-class 184PS of power and 430Nm of torque.
Enhanced Dimensions and Versatility
The sixth-generation Triton showcases increased body dimensions compared to its predecessor, built upon a newly developed mega-frame chassis. The Single Cab model features the largest cargo deck in its segment, measuring 2,340mm in width and 1,580mm in length, making it ideal for practical usage. The Double Cab combines the comfort of an SUV with the utility of a pickup truck, offering two rows of seats for enhanced versatility.
Advanced Safety Features
Safety reaches new heights in the 2024 Triton with the introduction of Active Yaw Control for improved handling on slippery roads and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). These enhancements significantly improve safety for both business and personal use, complementing the newly developed suspension system that delivers excellent ride comfort and superior steering stability.
SUV-Inspired Comfort
The new Triton brings SUV-level comfort to the pickup segment with features such as a wireless charging dock, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and versatile storage compartments. The Super Select 4WD-II system and upgraded drive modes ensure versatile performance across various terrains and driving conditions.
