Xpeng MONA M03 Launched In China, World’s Most Advanced EV?

See why all the new features on the Xpeng MONA M03 is more advanced than other EVs

XPeng Inc., a leading Chinese smart electric vehicle (EV) company listed on NYSE and HKEX (9868), has unveiled the MONA M03, an all-electric hatchback coupe. Priced between RMB 119,800 and 155,800, (about RM73, 657 to RM95,786) the MONA M03 will start deliveries in September.

The launch took place at XPeng’s 10th Anniversary Gala, where the company also introduced several key innovations. Highlighting the event was the debut of XPeng’s first in-house developed chip, the XPeng Turing, named after computing pioneer Alan Turing.

Moreover, this advanced 40-core chip is designed for AI applications and will drive the company’s smart vehicles, AI robots, and electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVOTL) aircraft. The XPeng Turing chip, which completed its successful tape-out on 23 August 2024, offers three times the performance of existing chips and supports Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving capabilities.

Another major announcement was the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution, based on the Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) architecture. This solution will debut on the XPeng P7+ in Q4 2024.

The AI Hawkeye system also integrates advanced vision hardware, including front and rear 8-megapixel cameras, enhancing precision, range, and low-light performance. Its software processes visual data directly through neural networks, improving perception accuracy and responsiveness.

On top of that, XPeng’s CEO and Chairman, He Xiaopeng, highlighted the company’s focus on making smart driving technology accessible and affordable. For the next decade, he predicted that only seven major Chinese automotive brands would remain, XPeng would achieve annual AI vehicle sales of 1 million units, and half of its sales would come from international markets.

The MONA M03 exemplifies XPeng’s commitment to combining design and technology. It features a sporty design with a low drag coefficient of Cd0.194, a length of 4,780mm, a wheelbase of 2,815mm and a class-leading trunk space of 621 litres.

The M03 offers advanced smart driving features with two ADAS packages, specifically M03 and M03 Max. The M03 Max, featuring full-scenario XNGP ADAS for urban driving, will be available after the Chinese New Year in 2025. Additionally, XPeng plans to pre-sell its “Land Carrier” flying car and unveil its second-generation humanoid robot at the “1024 XPeng Tech Day” later this year.

These advancements mark a significant step forward in XPeng’s pursuit of global leadership in AI-powered vehicles and smart technology. We got all this from  Global Newswire and their full article is linked here. THank you GLobal Newswire for the information and images.
