Why Nice Cars Are Abandoned In Car Parks

We are seeing more and more nice cars being abandoned

This is a vehicle that has been left unattended in a public place (building car park) or in other cases, left on the side of a road or an open area, like a village park. A vehicle that has been abandoned on private property for months can also be very suspicious as it might have been used fo illegal activity or might even be a vehicle that has no legal documentation.

Abandoned In Car Parks

Did you know that when a vehicle is left in a public area and its road tax has expired, the law states that the city council (MPPJ and or DBKL for example) and the police have right to tow it away to be scrapped for obstruction on the road area and then they need to inform the registered owner.

Here below are some possible reasons why some vehicles are left like this.

  1. The vehicle owner is longer alive and there are ownership issues with the surviving relatives
  2. The owner has financial issues and the owner has to dump/hide the vehicle until further notice
  3. The owner or car was involved in a crime
  4. This is a stolen car and using false number plates
  5. This is scrapped car from Singapore and here on duplicate/forged number plates

Well, whatever the reasons, it is sad to see a complete, nice luxury car collecting dust and parked in a premium parking position.

We wonder how long it will stay like this before the building management removes the car ….. which will cost money (towing charges).
