Toyota Malaysia: Strong Sales & Exciting Model Upgrades
Strong Toyota sales in August bring the numbers for 2024 up to 64,000 units.
UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) continues to dominate the Malaysian automotive market, reporting impressive sales figures and introducing exciting upgrades to popular models. The company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is evident in its latest announcements, which include strong sales performance, enhanced vehicle features, and attractive promotions.
In August 2024, UMWT achieved a remarkable milestone with total monthly sales reaching 8,500 units. This robust performance contributes to an impressive year-to-date sales figure of approximately 64,000 units as of August 2024. The top three best-selling models for the month were the Toyota Vios, Toyota Hilux, and Toyota Corolla Cross, showcasing the brand’s strong presence across various vehicle categories including sedans, pick-ups, and SUVs.
Building on this momentum, UMWT has unveiled exciting enhancements to three popular models: the Toyota Hilux, Fortuner, and GR86. Order-taking for these upgraded 2024 models commenced on August 16, 2024, offering customers improved features and performance across the range.
The iconic Hilux, known for its unwavering reliability, now includes Vehicle Stability Control in the 2.4 Single Cab variant. Higher-end models boast additional features such as Remote Engine Start and Panoramic View Monitor, further enhancing the driving experience.
The versatile Fortuner receives a stylish upgrade with the introduction of a GR Body Kit Package, adding a sporty touch to its rugged appeal. Select trims also benefit from the convenient Remote Engine Start feature, blending comfort with capability.
For driving enthusiasts, the GR86 coupe has been refined to deliver an even more exhilarating experience. Improvements include sharper handling, enhanced throttle response, and fine-tuned suspension. The addition of front and rear Digital Video Recorders (DVR) adds a modern touch to this dynamic sports car.

Additionally, the Toyota Service Savers program provides customers with affordable maintenance options, offering monthly instalments from as low as RM31. This initiative demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to providing comprehensive care throughout the ownership experience.
