My Review Of The 2025 Proton X70 In Sabah Part 2: Interior

Here is my what I thought of the interior of the 2025 Proton X70

So since I already gave a brief overview of my thoughts overall regarding the 2025 Proton X70 and the changes, this time around, we will focus solely on the interior. While the 2025 Proton X70 may only be a facelift, the interior is very different compared to before.

First things first, the biggest change in the interior of the 2025 Proton X70 has to be the ambient lighting feature on the dashboard. Not only does it consist of 72 different colours. It also has a few different settings to play with going from static to dynamic and this adds so much to the overall feel.

Moreover, unlike some cars which have very distracting ambient lighting which can cause headaches or even distract the driver in some situations, Proton managed to make the dashboard lights on the 2025 X70 very subtle. You are, obviously, aware that there are lights blinking but it does not jump at your eyes forcing them off the road and I feel this is great.

The nappa leather in the interior of the 2025 Proton X70 is also no longer brown or black in lower specs like it was before, now you get grey nappa leather which coupled with the new ambient lighting system and light roof (which features a sunroof on the top spec model) makes for a light and airy cabin.

On top of that, the new X70 feels a lot more stable and planted than before as well and this translates to a much more comfortable back seat experience. Now, of course the rear cabin is nowhere near as luxurious as a Rolls-Royce, but the ride was so smooth and the seats were so comfortable that whenever I was riding in the back, I had to resist the urge to just fall asleep.

In fact, one of my driving buddies did fall asleep in the rear seat while I was driving. I admit I was a bit jealous, but given how much more smooth and comfortable the ride was, driving this family SUV was such a pleasure that ultimately, I was just happy to be driving it and enjoying the scenic roads in Sabah.

All in all, while space remained the same, the cabin somehow felt bigger and with the new features and changes, the 2025 Proton X70 is now the most comfortable car I have driven and been driven in for 2024 so far and I am fairly certain it will stay this way for the rest of the year.
