Modenas Unveils Versys 650 SE And Kawasaki Z900RS SE From RM43,600 and RM73,300

Check out these new Modenas and Kawasaki motorcycles for the Malaysian market

Modenas, a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, is set to make waves in the motorcycle industry with the upcoming launch of two exciting models, the Modenas Versys 650 SE and the Kawasaki Z900RS SE. Both motorcycles are scheduled for release in October 2024 and will be available in limited numbers.

The Modenas Versys 650 SE is specifically tailored for touring aficionados. Its standout feature is a robust 56-litre quick-release pannier system that offers ample storage capacity, making it ideal for long-distance trips. This innovative storage solution is designed to hold most full-face helmets, allowing riders to travel without the hassle of excess luggage.

Moreover, the panniers can be easily detached, ensuring that the motorcycle maintains a streamlined look, even when the storage is removed. With a mounting width of 93cm, the Versys 650 SE is optimised for high-speed cruising, enhancing its appeal for riders who appreciate both form and function.

The motorcycle is powered by the reliable 649cc parallel-twin engine that has garnered a solid reputation in earlier models, delivering smooth and consistent power whether navigating urban landscapes or embarking on extended journeys. The Modenas Versys 650 SE retails for RM43,600 for the metallic spark black colour and RM44,200 for the candy lime green/ metallic flat spark black colour options.

On top of that, the Kawasaki Z900RS SE offers a blend of classic aesthetics and modern engineering, paying homage to the iconic Z1 model. This motorcycle is designed for those who demand performance. Key features include an Öhlins S46 rear shock, which greatly improves grip and ride comfort, ensuring a smoother experience on various terrains and goes for RM73,300.

The front suspension is meticulously tuned to complement the rear, enhancing overall stability. A notable addition is the remote preload adjuster, allowing riders to effortlessly modify the suspension settings, whether riding solo or with a passenger, or when carrying extra luggage. The visual appeal of the Kawasaki Z900RS SE is accentuated by gold-coloured fork outer tubes that harmonise beautifully with the Öhlins shock, adding a touch of sophistication.

What’s more, for safety and performance, the motorcycle is equipped with ø300mm Brembo front discs and M4.32 radial-mount monobloc callipers, ensuring powerful braking and instilling confidence in the rider. Both models will be available for purchase through Kawasaki All-Star dealers across Malaysia.
