Kia Debuts Its First Global Training Hub In The APAC Region

Kia is showing its commitment to excellent vehicles in the APAC region

Kia Asia Pacific has significantly expanded its footprint in Malaysia with the inauguration of the Kia Asia Pacific Training Centre in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. This facility is Kia’s fifth global training hub, joining established centres in Germany, Russia, UAE, and the USA. 

The strategic choice of KL, Kia’s regional headquarters, highlights the company’s strong confidence in Malaysia as a critical node in the Asia Pacific region. The new Training Centre is set to become a leader in promoting a culture of innovation and outstanding service across the APAC region. It aims to enhance the capabilities of subsidiaries and distributors by providing top-notch Automotive Training Excellence. 

Moreover, this will ensure that operational staff, sales, and after sales teams are equipped with comprehensive skills and knowledge crucial for navigating the evolving automotive landscape. He explained that Malaysia was chosen from among 34 APAC markets due to its strategic location, which aligns with the company’s goal of staying ahead of industry changes and technological advancements. 

Malaysia’s diverse talent pool and high language proficiency also make it an ideal choice for the training centre. The Training Centre boasts a variety of state-of-the-art facilities. It includes high-tech classrooms for theoretical instruction, fully equipped workshops for hands-on training, a computerised resource centre for Kia vehicle information, virtual repair simulators, and specialised tools such as Kia diagnostic equipment. 

On top of that, it also features the latest Kia models, including the EV6 and EV9, as well as upcoming models like the EV5 and EV3, for practical training sessions. Covering over 10,000 square feet, the Training Centre represents an investment of RM3 million. Its advanced facilities and training methods align with global standards set by its parent company, Hyundai. 

Adjacent to the Training Centre is the Kia 3S Flagship Centre, which offers real-world exposure to further enrich the training experience. Graduates of the programs will receive certification from Kia Asia Pacific, affirming their expertise within Kia’s global network. The Centre can accommodate up to 80 trainees at a time, providing a conducive learning environment with personalised attention and interactive experiences. 

Kia aims to train up to 3,000 individuals annually, supporting all 34 countries in the Asia Pacific region. The opening of the Kia Asia Pacific Training Centre marks a pivotal moment in Kia’s regional expansion, underscoring its commitment to growth and development. This cutting-edge facility is set to enhance automotive expertise and foster a new generation of skilled professionals, reinforcing Malaysia’s role as a key player in Kia’s global training network and ensuring exceptional service and value for its customers.
