Honda City 1.5V Special Edition With Extras Doesn’t Cost Extra

The Honda City 1.5 V Special Edition or SE is available in limited quantities for an unchanged price.

It’s not often we see products getting cheaper or at least getting more enhanced in terms of value these days, so it’s important to take note and celebrate when this does happen. Honda Malaysia’s recent launch of the WR-V and City Special Edition (SE) models are one of those occurrences and we stopped to check out the latter of these two cars earlier today.

To be honest, the upgrades aren’t very extensive, but they’re noteworthy. Why? Because you’re getting all of these accessories free of charge from Honda Malaysia. That’s right – the City V SE does not cost more than the standard City V. The only reason there’s an RM300 price difference is because the SE model is only available in Platinum White Pearl colour. This colour option has the same surcharge on the regular City V as well.

So, what’s new on the City V SE?

There are cosmetic upgrades and functional ones as well. The exterior changes are all aesthetic ones and include the under spoiler, side skirts and front bumper lip add-on in body colour.

There’s also an SE badge on the tailgate in chrome and with black borders.

Functionally, the biggest upgrade is the front-facing digital video recorder, which will make insurance claims all much more hassle free should you run into some trouble on the road. They have also added white LED footwell lights for the front passengers.

Finally, you’ll find chrome plated scuff plates to protect the door sills and these have an illuminated ‘CITY’ logo in front. Finally, if you check out the boot, you’ll find a plastic trunk tray there which helps protect the area from dust and water. This plastic piece is removable and easy to clean and it ties well with the rest of the vehicle as it has a City logo and some ribbed texture for added grip.

Only 99 units of the Honda City V SE will be available nationwide and it’s first-come-first-served. If you were in the market for a 1.5L petrol sedan, you now have more reasons to choose a Honda.
