Adrian Newey has confirmed a long-term commitment to the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, taking on the role of Managing Technical Partner starting 1 March 2025. This move marks a significant milestone for the team, reflecting their ambitious aspirations in Formula One. Newey, a legendary figure in the sport, has an unparalleled track record, having led F1 teams to 25 world titles.
His appointment underscores Aston Martin Aramco’s dedication to achieving top-tier success in Formula One. Newey’s decision to join Aston Martin Aramco comes as he seeks a new challenge in Formula One. The team’s new AMR Technology Campus, which he toured in June, played a crucial role in his decision.
Moreover, this cutting-edge facility epitomises the team’s boundless ambition and commitment to innovation. In his new position, Newey will tackle several exciting challenges, including adapting to the technical regulations set for 2026, integrating Honda’s power units, utilising advanced fuels developed by Aramco, and leveraging the latest wind tunnel technology in the sport.
