Upcoming 2025 MG ZS EV Launching Globally This Month

Excitement is building as MG Motor prepares to unveil the new MG ZS electric vehicle (EV) SUV at the end of August. This upcoming model marks a significant shift for the brand, as it will replace the current MG ZS, which has been on the market since 2017 in both thermal and electric versions.
The new MG ZS, set to debut by early 2025, will be built on the advanced modular MSP platform, a technology already utilised in the MG4 compact sedan. While it is expected that this new model might drop the “ZS” nameplate, given its strong recognition and popularity in Europe, no final decision has been made yet.
Moreover, this next-generation MG ZS will be notably larger than its predecessor, boasting dimensions of 4,476mm in length, 1,850mm in width, 1,621mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,730mm. The increased size promises a more imposing presence on the road and enhanced interior space, particularly benefiting rear-seat passengers.
The new model will pivot away from traditional internal combustion engines to fully embrace electric power, reflecting a significant shift in MG’s strategy. The MG ZS will leverage the same electric powertrain technology seen in the MG4 sedan.
On top of that, specifics about the powertrain are still unclear, the upcoming MG ZS is expected to offer a commendable range, with the Long Range version projected to deliver between 480 and 500 km on a single charge. This range is aimed to be practical, providing sufficient distance for everyday use while remaining competitive.
One of the key highlights of the new MG ZS will be its modernised styling. The SUV is set to feature a refreshed design that aligns with current automotive trends, promising a sleek and contemporary appearance. In addition to its design, the new MG ZS will be equipped with well-known powertrains that deliver adequate performance and improved range in a more refined package.
The 2025 MG ZS will also come with a high level of equipment, offering modern amenities and features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. The pricing is expected to be aggressive, positioning the new MG ZS EV in the B-Segment SUV category rather than the more expensive C-Segment SUV segment.
