To celebrate 50 great years, Porsche introduces the 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche is unveiling an exclusive model, the 911 Turbo 50 Years. This special edition marries exceptional performance with refined design, honouring the heritage of the iconic sports car while incorporating modern elegance.
Limited to just 1,974 units, matching the year the first 911 Turbo debuted, this model is based on the last-generation 911 Turbo S. The 911 Turbo 50 Years pays homage to its storied past, drawing inspiration from the original 1974 Type 930. This model reimagines the classic with contemporary touches, including unique design elements like side vinyl graphics reminiscent of the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo’s historic livery.
Moreover, it features the new Turbo-exclusive colour, Turbonite, which also adorns inlays on the rear engine cover, fuel tank cap, and the Porsche crest. Anthracite Grey accents on the rear wing and other parts provide additional historical references. A turbocharger icon badge on the rear grille and an LED door projector further celebrate the model’s legacy.
Inside, the 911 Turbo 50 Years showcases the McKenzie tartan on the seat centres and door panels, a nod to early Turbo models. Turbonite accents on seat belts, controls, and stitching differentiate this edition from the standard 911 Turbo S.
On top of that, additional touches include an illuminated Turbo 50 logo on the door kick plates, embroidered headrests, and an aluminium plaque above the glove compartment indicating the car’s limited-edition number. The interior also features perforated Race-Tex upholstery and an analog Porsche Design Subsecond clock.
An optional Heritage Design Package enhances the anniversary model with additional retro features. This package includes Aventurine Green Metallic paint or other custom colours, a decorative graphic in White, and the historic Porsche crest from 1964. The interior gains extra leather and tartan elements, while the dashboard trim and other details reflect a classic look with green accents.
What’s more, performance-wise, the 911 Turbo 50 Years maintains the potent specifications of the 911 Turbo S. It boasts a 3.7-liter boxer engine with 650 PS and 800 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds. The car features an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, active all-wheel drive, and a sports exhaust system.
To complement the car, Porsche Design Timepieces is releasing a limited-edition chronograph, echoing the car’s design with a Turbonite-accented dial and black leather strap. This watch, also limited to 1,974 units, mirrors the watch on the car’s dashboard, tying together the 911 Turbo 50 Years’ celebration of performance, design, and heritage.
