The 2025 Proton X70 Makes A Very Strong Case For Itself Now

The new features of the 2025 Proton X70 cements it as the king of C-segment SUVs

So on 26 June 2024, national carmaker Proton invited us to test drive the new 2025 Proton X70 SUV on its test track where we got up close and personal with the car and learned all the new features and improvements of the car that cement its place as the undisputed king of the C-segment SUVs in Malaysia despite the stiff competition.

First things first, the new 2025 Proton X70 is definitely just a facelift, but it includes a few small changes and improvements that make a big difference. Not only is the front end redesigned with a new grille design akin to the flagship X90 SUV as well as a new headlight cluster, but the rear bumper has also been redesigned as well.

Moreover, the new 2025 Proton X70 also features an updated interior as the brown nappa leather is now grey, a new infotainment screen and digital driver display have been added, the ADAS features have been upgraded to level 2 and the steering wheel is also taken from the S70 sedan. The highlight, though, is the new ambient light strip on the dashboard.

Now, on the track, we got to test out the handling, acceleration and even safety features of the new 2025 Proton X70 and got to experience first hand how stable, comfortable, sporty and overall, pleasant drive as the SUV features an updated transmission which is paired to the same engine as before but feels a lot smoother.

On top of that, we all know that as a family SUV comfort and practicality should take precedence in the new 2025 Proton X70, and it does. Despite being able to switch to sport mode and instantly have the car feel sportier with the steering wheel becoming heavier and the throttle delay reduced, its natural setting is soft and smooth.

Now, all this was immediately obvious to us as soon as we stepped into the car but what we did not know then was the price of the new 2025 Proton X70. Naturally, competition has just gotten more exciting in the C-segment SUV sphere with the introduction of a certain other C-segment SUV with the number 7 in its name but I think the Proton is just as good as the competition.

So there you have it, the new 2025 Proton X70 is still the king of C-segment SUVs, the question now is, how much will it cost? Proton will announce this when the car launches so stay tuned.
