smart #1 & smart #3 Get “Black and Bold” Aerodynamic Enhancements
Will PRO-NET offer these new aero parts to new and existing smart #1 and smart #3 customers in Malaysia?
The smart #1 and its sleeker, newer cousin, the smart #3 are two exceptional EVs that straddle the line between premium and mass market perfectly and this is reflected in their equipment, performance and pricing. To increase their appeal further, BRABUS designers have now created a couple of new aero packs for both of these electric vehicles under the “Black and Bold” motto.
These BRABUS upgrades include the following aero-optimised parts that were tested in the wind tunnel to reduce front-axle lift at high speed, ensure optional aerodynamic balance, and enhance the overall handling stability:
- BRABUS front spoiler
- BRABUS winglets
- BRABUS front fascia inserts for the side air intakes
- BRABUS rear spoiler
- BRABUS rear fascia insert
- BRABUS front spoiler
- BRABUS roof spoiler
- BRABUS rear fascia insert with diffuser-look
The aerodynamic package is finished in the same black as the body of these cars and also features the same red highlights that are found on the BRABUS variants of both the #1 and #3 vehicles.
Besides that, they’ve also added the following items:
- 21″ Ten-spoke Monoblock Z Platinum Edition wheels
- BRABUS sport springs (35mm lower)
- BRABUS scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo
- Black velour floor mats and trunk liner with red BRABUS logo embroidered and piping
- aluminium pedals
While the aerodynamic enhancements seem to be functional, the cosmetic enhancements are also really quite interesting.
The sport springs in particular are interesting and are sure to drastically change the way these cars drive as they’re much lower to the ground and likely stiffer than the stock option. The new 21″ wheels too look interesting and will affect the way the smart #1 and smart #3 ride.
We wonder how much this BRABUS-designed package is valued at and whether the distributors of smart in Malaysia will consider bringing this in as an option for new buyers or possible sell it to existing customers as an add on via their hello smart app. Right now, the smart # 1 and #3 is priced as follows in Malaysia:
- smart #1 Pro – RM169,000
- smart #1 Premium – RM209,000
- smart #1 BRABUS – RM249,000
- smart #3 Pro – RM175,000
- smart #3 Premium – RM215,000
- smart #3 BRABUS – RM255,000
