Proton Strengthens Its Foothold In East Malaysia With The New 2025 Proton X70
The 2025 Proton X70 has been launched in Sabah and Sarawak from RM100,800
On 15 August 2024, Proton launched the 2025 Proton X70 in East Malaysia, marking a unique event tailored specifically for Sabah and Sarawak. This separate launch for the C-segment SUV highlights its significant updates and Proton’s commitment to these regions. Initially introduced on December 12, 2018, the X70 has received notable enhancements that position it as a leading choice in its class.
The 2025 model features refreshed exterior styling, upgraded interior technology, and advanced ADAS level 2 safety features. Its exterior now includes a larger front grille with elegant songket-pattern elements, new trapezoidal headlamps with 47 LEDs, and a more muscular bumper and hood design.
Moreover, the rear showcases a new bumper with a diffuser, complemented by 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Under the hood, the X70 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 177PS and 255Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that enhances performance and fuel efficiency.
Inside, the 2025 Proton X70 features a revamped interior with a new steering wheel, premium stone grey trim, and LED ambient lighting on the instrument panel with 72 colour options. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch floating screen, advanced voice recognition, and a remote engine start feature.
The model also maintains its pioneering role in active safety systems with ADAS level 2, offering 13 advanced safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning.
On top of that, to celebrate the launch, Proton is providing up to RM23,500 in additional value for the first 3,000 customers, along with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, a five-year data package, and six complimentary labour services. Addressing previous concerns, Proton has also improved parts availability in East Malaysia by opening new Regional Parts Centres in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
Pricing for the 2025 Proton X70 varies by region, with the following on-the-road prices (excluding insurance):
- Peninsular Malaysia: RM98,800 (Standard), RM110,800 (Executive), RM123,800 (Premium), RM126,800 (Premium X)
- East Malaysia: RM100,800 (Standard), RM112,800 (Executive), RM125,800 (Premium), RM128,800 (Premium X)
The 2025 Proton X70 is available in five colours, namely, Snow White, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, Ruby Red, and Marine Blue. With its blend of innovative design and advanced features, the 2025 Proton X70 is poised to strengthen Proton’s presence in the premium SUV market across Malaysia.
