Peugeot e-3008 Electric SUV Spotted In Damansara Perdana

All-electric Peugeot e-3008 mid-sized SUV might be launching locally early this year

This recent sighting of a completely undisguised Peugeot e-3008 suggests that the French lion marque may soon also be entering the all-electric segment in Malaysia.

This silver unregistered e-3008 was spotted by our www.automacha.com writer in the Damansara Perdana area, just as it finishes receiving a full professional wash and valet.

There has been no official word from Peugeot regarding any details on this upcoming model over here. What can currently be gleaned through the grapevine though is that this all-electric crossover will land locally some time in the first quarter of next year, before being followed up by its ICE-equipped counterpart that is to come a short while after.

At least going by international versions of the e-3008 too, this silver SUV seen here does appear to be the top spec GT trim. This deduction is primarily made based upon it riding on a similar set of 20-inch alloy wheels as found on the current flagship 408, but with it interestingly being wrapped in Michelin rubber this time, in place of the Goodyears featured on its locally-assembled sedan sibling.

And while on the topic of the exterior, this e-3008 follows closely on from the sharp new Peugeot family face first seen locally on the aforementioned 408. This all-electric SUV’s intricate borderless front grille and the sharp three-claw DRL signature flanking it is in fact so distinct that, even in this admittedly nondescript silver shade, was what initially caught the eye of this writer to investigate further.

Moving rearwards to the e-3008’s rear, a full-width light bar headlines the highly-creased lower portion of its rump. Above that in turn is be a rear windscreen that is so steeply raked, it moves this SUV almost into the crossover-coupe territory.

Taking a sneak peek through into the cabin meanwhile, the i-Cockpit 21-inch curved widescreen display that is standard on the GT spec can be seen, ahead of the typically Peugeot small orthogonal steering wheel. Also observed is the i-Toggle configurable lower central screen, that acts as a row of customizable touch-sensitive buttons.

If assuming that this example here mirrors the specs of the international versions of e-3008 as well, this flagship variant should feature a combination synthetic leather and Alcantara upholstery within as well. In terms of tech toys, among the notable bits of kit with the GT trim includes a Clean Cabin air treatment system, a 10-speaker Focal sound system.

Delving deeper into the technical aspect, the e-3008 measures 4,540 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. This puts it in roughly the same size segment as the Proton X70, while being a smidge smaller than a Tesla Model Y.

The e-3008 currently sits upon Stellantis’ new STLA Medium platform, with the single-motor long range variant quoting a whopping 700 km of range from its 98 kWh battery pack. A smaller 73 kWh battery is also on offer, and will supposedly able to manage up to 525 km on a single charge.

Given that Peugeot Malaysia has yet to even officially acknowledge its existence over here, there is naturally to be no word on the local pricing yet for the e-3008. It is nevertheless priced in the same ballpark as the likes of Tesla’s Model Y and Hyundai IONIQ 5 in its European home market, so a rough estimate of between RM 200,000 and RM 250,000 is plausible, and should therefore see it be quite the chic competitor in this increasingly crowded all-electric SUV space.
