MG Malaysia expands its lineup with a new petrol SUV option in the HS SUV
SAIC Motor Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is excited to unveil the all-new HS SUV, an addition to its distinguished MG lineup that promises to deliver exceptional value, advanced technology, and a commanding presence on the road. This launch is part of MG’s 100th anniversary celebration, marking a century of automotive excellence and innovation.
The MG HS is available in two variants, namely Standard and Lux, with prices expected to start below RM130,000. Both variants are powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed Twin Clutch transmission, offering 162PS of power and 250Nm of torque.
Moreover, this SUV features a bold and aggressive design, highlighted by new bi-functional LED headlights, a prominent front grille, and a sleek rear with dual exhaust outlets and LED taillights. The MG HS sits on 18-inch diamond-cut wheels and includes a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the HS offers high-quality, soft-touch materials, Sports Seats, and a 64-theme Ambient Light. Performance is enhanced with a Super Sport Mode as well adding to the allure.
The MG HS comes with a 12.3-inch virtual cluster display and a 10.1-inch high-resolution infotainment screen featuring a 360° view camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and the brand’s iSMART connectivity. This allows users to control various vehicle functions, including air conditioning, via their mobile devices.
The SUV also includes a Power Tailgate and a generous cargo capacity ranging from 463L to 1,287L with the rear seats folded. Safety is a priority in the MG HS, which comes with 6 SRS airbags and a suite of PILOT ADAS features including FCW, ACC, Traffic Jam Assistance, LDW, LKA, BSD, LCA, RCTA and Door Opening Warning.
On top of that, the MG HS also comes with a comprehensive warranty package: a 5-year Unlimited Mileage Warranty on the vehicle and a 7-year Unlimited Mileage Warranty on the powertrain. The HS is available in four colours, specifically Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Black Pearl, and Camden Grey. It offers two main variants.
The HS Standard features automatic LED headlights, LED taillamps, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, black leather interior, 6-way adjustable driver seat, a 7-inch multi-info display, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other amenities.
On the other hand, the MG HS Lux adds a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, red brake callipers, a 12.3-inch virtual display, the brand’s iSMART, 360° view camera, sports seats, Super Sport Mode, paddle shifters, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, and 64-theme ambient lighting, along with enhanced MG PILOT features.
