Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV Launched In Malaysia For RM625,888
The Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV is the new entry into peak electric luxury.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launched a new variant of the EQS SUV at their Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur event. The new Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV is a more competitively priced model for those who find the EQS 580 4MATIC variant to be too pricey or perhaps they prefer to have more range than outright power. This new variant is RM74,000 cheaper and its range is 60km longer. However, it comes with lower power output with a greater emphasis on efficiency with 2 permanently excited synchronous motors. Total output is reduced to 360PS and 800Nm of torque, down from 543PS and 858Nm of torque. This increases its century sprint time up to 6.1 seconds from 4.6 seconds. A small trade off that many will find acceptable given that this is a 7-seater luxury SUV and not a supercar.
More importantly, you still get 22kW AC charging and 200kW DC Fast Charging. Other features including the Torque Shift function between front and rear axles. You also still get Airmatic air suspension with continously adjustable damping ADS+ included, allowing the vehicle to be raised by several centimetres. There are Dynamic Select modes including ECO, Comfort, Sport, Individual, and Offroad. Rear axle steering is still featured here too with up to 10-degrees of turn.
The interior is still quite well featured with climatised front seats, brown open-pore magnolia wood trim, Mercedes-Benz patterned aluminium accents, nappa leather upholstery in black / balao brown. The MBUX Hyperscreen is still found here with Augmented Reality Heads-up Display for 3D navigation and driving assistance. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto is featured too. Around back there are two 11.6″ displays for rear infotainment. a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos is also found in the cabin. You’ll also find a panoramic sliding sunroof inside.
The exterior features 22″ AMG multi-spoke wheels, illuminated running boards and a black panel radiator grille.
In terms of safety, there is still the Driving Assistance Package Plus which includes:

- Active Lane Keeping Assist
- Active Steering Assist
- Evasive Manoueve Support
- Pre-Safe Impulse Side
Urban Guard Plus is also include which features:
- all-round monitoring
- an anti-theft alarm system
- emergency key deactivation
