The Maserati GT2 Stradale builds on last year’s racing GT2 but now in a roadgoing package.
Last year, Maserati returned to motorsports with the GT2. This week, they bring this race track formula back to the public roads with the GT2 Stradale – now the most powerful Maserati you can buy and drive. The Maserati GT2 Stradale was unveiled at the 2024 Monterey Car Week alongside the Maserati MC20 Icona and the MCXtrema, which made its North American debut.
About The Maserati GT2 Stradale
This model represents the perfect blend of Maserati’s mass produced and racing heritage. It is powered by the same 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine as the MC20 but this time the output is cranked up by 10 horsepower to 640 horsepower, giving it a 0-100km/h time of just 2.8 seconds with a rear-wheel drive setup. The top speed of the Stradale GT2 is 324km/h.
The 8-speed dual clutch automatic now shifts faster, according to Maserati. The new braking system comes from Brembo and was made specifically for the GT2 Stradale and it gets better cooling too.
It’s also 60kg lighter than the MC20 and with much more sophisticated aerodynamics thanks to a huge rear carbon-fiber spoiler as well as a redesigned diffuser, bumper and front splitter. Besides that, there are some changes to the front of the car resulting in a “shark nose” which was done for better airflow. You also find more air vents on the hood and front fenders that improve the engine’s cooling performance by 16%.
Customers can go for a performance pack upgrade which includes Michelin semi-slick tyres, an electronic e-LSD, carbon ceramic racing brakes, as well as specific ESC, MSP and ABS calibrations. Or they can get the Performance Plus package which adds the above AND four-point belts and a fire extinguisher. These come with a new Corsa Evo driving mode in addition to WET, GT (the default setting on engine start-up), SPORT and CORSA.
The interior has been revamped for weight reduction but still features some nice materials such as Alcantara with blue contrast stitching and driver-oriented controls. There’s still a wireless charger here. Door handles features yellow “pull” lettering and the carbon fibre monocoque has been left exposed.
Sabelt carbon fibre seats are found here upholstered in Blue Elettrico Alcantara and these can be optioned in two sizes depending on the size of the driver. They can be upgraded for less extreme sport seats. A special steering wheel has been designed for this vehicle and it too is upholstered in Alcantara with blue stitching.
The 695W Sonus faber sound system in this car features 12-speakers.
