GAC GS3 EMZOOM Premium-R Is Now In Full Production At Segambut, No More CBU Units

The GAC GS3 EMZOOM is now only available as CKD units from Segambut.

WTC Automotif (WTCA) has slowly been building to this moment for a very long time – they are now the first to offer a right-hand drive locally-assembled GAC GS3 EMZOOM in the ASEAN region!

Brief History Of The GAC GS3 In Malaysia

Back in 2021, WTCA surprised many with the introduction of the previous GAC GS3 for RM88K. By early 2023, there was already a dynamic and handsome looking new generation GAC GS3 that was revealed in China. In May 2023, local assembly of this new GS3 was confirmed by WTCA.

In January of this year, the ball started rolling with the production starting in Segambut with initial models being CBU units until local assembly was in full swing. Two variants of the CBU car were introduced – the Exclusive at RM119K and the Premium-R at RM129K. The investment in the Segambut line to make it ready for the GAC GS3 EMZOOM reportedly cost more than RM60 million.

Now the latest development is this – the GAC GS3 EMZOOM can no longer be ordered as a CBU model. All existing CBU orders can be converted to CKD models, however only the Premium-R variant is available from Segambut and this is priced at a slightly lower RM126,800. Five colours are available – Salt Lake Blue, Asphalt Black, Superstar Silver, Graphite Grey and Frost White.

For customers who have waited for more than 3 months for their unit, as well as those who are now left to convert their bookings from CBU to CKD, free tinting will be thrown in as a form of compensation. This tint package is valued by WCTA at RM2,100. The car continues to be offered with a 5-year, 150,000km warranty with 1 year of free service, and 3 years of free maintenance. The first 2,000 customers will also get a free smartwatch and a 7-year/180,000km engine and powertrain warranty.
