2025 Zeekr 007 Is The World’s Fastest Charging EV Today
Will the 2025 Zeekr 007 solve slow charging times for good?
Zeekr unveiled the 2025 model year of its 007 sedan at the Evolution New Generation press conference on 13 August, showcasing several exciting updates. The most notable enhancement is the introduction of the second-generation Golden Battery. This new battery promises faster charging speeds, boasting a 5.5C rate compared to its predecessor’s 4.5C.
This allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 10.5 minutes, making it the fastest-charging mass-produced battery globally, and, by extension, the Zeekr 007 equipped with this battery is now the fastest mass-produced EV.
Moreover, the 2025 Zeekr 007 is available in four versions, starting with the Rear-wheel drive intelligent driving for 209,900 yuan (about RM129,925), followed by the Long-range RWD intelligent driving for 229,900 yuan (roughly RM142,320), as well as the Four-wheel drive intelligent driving for 229,900 yuan (around RM142,320) and lastly the 4WD performance version for 299,900 yuan (approximately RM185,702).
The sedan continues to offer two battery options: a 75kWh Golden Battery and a 100kWh CATL Qilin battery. The Qilin battery remains in the longer-range models, featuring rapid 5C charging. The Golden Battery, a lithium iron phosphate type developed by Zeekr, now benefits from improved charging speeds.
On top of that, performance has also been enhanced. Rear-wheel drive versions now accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5.0 seconds, down from 5.4 seconds. The standard all-wheel drive version improves to 3.4 seconds from 3.5 seconds, while the four-wheel drive performance model retains its 2.84-second time, which Zeekr claims is the fastest for mid-level electric cars.
The 2025 model features the advanced Haohan intelligent driving 2.0 system, which integrates Lidar with visual sensors and is powered by two Nvidia Orin X chips delivering 508 TOPS. This system enhances navigation through complex intersections, introduces 1000 new traffic scenarios, and improves parking abilities, including a remote control fingertip parking feature.
Zeekr’s updated operating system, Zeekr OS AI, enables comprehensive voice control for all vehicle functions and provides proactive suggestions, such as reminders to charge the car or adjust climate control settings. The car boasts 720-degree perception, covering both interior and exterior views.
