2024 Refreshed Toyota Hilux, Fortuner And GR86 Now Available To Order
UMW Toyota Motor opens the order books for refreshed Toyota Hilux, Fortuner and GR86 models.
The 2024 Toyota Hilux, 2024 Toyota Fortuner and 2024 Toyota GR86 are all confirmed for the Malaysian market and ready for the public to order starting today. None of these models are going through a major facelift let alone a full generational change. Instead, think of this is as an extensive update to the products with changes to equipment, options and even emissions levels in some cases. Let’s take a look at each of the new models.
2024 Toyota Hilux
The best-selling pick-up truck in Malaysia gets enhancements all around. Let’s start right at the bottom. The basic Hilux 2.4 Single Cab variant now comes with Vehicle Stability Control, one of the most important pieces of safety equipment.
Across other variants of the Hilux, Toyota is rolling out Remote Engine Start for the first time in Malaysia. This feature has been available on the Isuzu D-Max for some years now and is now available on the Hilux too, allowing users to start or stop the engine remotely with the key fob or through the Toyota My app. This allows users to cool the cabin before entering the vehicle.
Another equipment change is the Panoramic View Monitor, which is now standard on the Hilux 2.4V, Hilux 2.8 Rogue and Hilux 2.8 GR Sport. A wireless charger is now standard on the Hilux 2.8 Rogue and Hilux 2.8 GR Sport and is optional on other variants except on the Hilux 2.4 Single Cab.
The Hilux 2.4 and Hilux 2.8 engines are now both certified to Euro 4 Emissions standards. The GR Sport has an output of 224PS and 550Nm of torque while the Rogue has 204PS and 500Nm of torque. The 2.4L models have 150PS and 400Nm of torque.
Pricing for the Hilux starts at RM104,880 without insurance.
2024 Toyota Fortuner
The latest iteration of the Fortuner brings an all-new GR Bodykit as an optional accessory upgrade to Fortuner 2.7 SRZ or Fortuner 2.4. The GR Bodykit includes:
- Front Bumper Skirt
- Front Fog Lamp Garnish
- Rear Bumper Skirt
Remote Engine Start is now available on the Fortuner 2.8 VRZ and Fortuner 2.7 SRZ models. The starting price for the new Toyota Fortuner is RM195,880 without insurance and three engine options are available.
2024 Toyota GR86
The Toyota GR86 is the only model on this list being fully imported from Japan. For 2024, both the 2.4 A/T and 2.4 M/T variants are still available. The changes for this sports car are both under the hood and in terms of equipment.
Both variants have a remapped throttle for better response, a refined suspension and a recalibrated electric power steering system. The Toyota GR86 A/T variant specifically now features an enhanced transmission tuning that allows for higher engine RPM after downshifts.
In terms of equipment, the only change comes in the form of a new front and rear HD Digital Video Recorder set as standard. Pricing still starts at RM295,000 without insurance.
