Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Launched In Malaysia From RM199,950
The Suzuki Jimny 5-Door arrives via Naza Eastern Motors fully-imported from India.
Naza Eastern Motors (NEM), the authorised distributor of Suzuki vehicles in Malaysia, today launched the Jimny 5-door. This car was first globally revealed in January 2023. This highly anticipated SUV arrives in Malaysia fully imported from India and is priced from RM199,950 to about RM205,000 depending on colour choices. This is a follow up to the Jimny 3-door which has been on sale officially through NEM since September 2021.
The Suzuki Jimny 5-door measures 3,850 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,730 mm tall. This makes the new Jimny 5-door 300mm longer than the Jimny 3-door. The boot space rises from 85L in the 3-door model to 211L with all four seats in use. Of course just like in the 3-door model the rear seats can be folded down for more cargo room.
Powering the 5-door model is the same 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine with 100hp at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4,000rpm – enough to get the car to 140km/h with a 0-100km/h time of just 17.2 seconds. A simple 4-speed conventional automatic transfers power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. All Grip Pro 4X4 provides low range and high range 4WD capabilities.
Speaking of off-roading capabilities, the Jimny is built on a ladder chassis and features a 3-link rigid axle. It has a 5.7m turning radius, a 47-degree departure angle, a 24-degree ramp breakover angle, and a 36-degree approach angle. It also has Hill Hold Assist and Hill Descent Control.
The Jimny 5-door brings with it the iconic 5-slot front grille, headlamp washers, fog lamps and 15” dark painted metallic alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Dueler H/L. Inside, you’ll find a 9” infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and a reverse camera output. The Jimny 5-door comes with 6 airbags.
Colour options include Bluish Black Pearl, Granite Grey Metallic, Jungle Green, and there are two-tone options as well such as Sizzling Red Metallic + Bluish Black Pearl and Chiffon Ivory Metallic + Bluish Black Pearl. Some of these colour are cost options and drive the final price up. The manufacturer warranty is 3-years or 100,000km.
