This Neta X will compete in a very popular and price sensitive segment
Neta in Malaysia is making a strong impression with the launch of the Neta X which happened simultaneously in Bangkok Thailand (where Neta has a factory). Yes, this was a launch to make an ASEAN impression.
Early buyers will have their cars in hand soon as the first batch of deliveries will begin in August.
This new electric SUV is sold in three variants. The Neta X 400 Comfort for RM119,888, the Neta X 400 Luxury for RM127,888 and the high specification Neta X 500 Luxury for RM135,888.
All three variants have been fitted with a front-mounted 161hp electric motor that also produces 210Nm of torque.
The Neta X can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds and has maximum speed of over 150km/h.
This crossover is powered by a 51.8kWh battery and the 400 Comfort and Luxury variants have a WLTP-rated possible driving range of 323km.
Meanwhile, the 500 Luxury variant features a 62kWh battery which is claimed to provide a range of up to 410km.
While all three variants have the same 6.6kW AC onboard charger, the 400 models can support DC charging of up to 65kW while the 500 Luxury can go much higher at 100kW.
Additionally, Neta product experts claim that it takes just 30 minutes of charging time to get the battery level on all three Neta X variants to go from 30 percent to 80 percent which means when the battery gets to 30 percent it is best to charge it and just have it up to 80 percent to keep the battery health at its best (like your smartphone battery).
Meanwhile, the two luxury variants come with extra features such as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, memory function for the driver’s seat, wireless charger and a power tailgate.
Inside the spacious cabin, there is a 15.6-inch central infotainment system and digital instrument cluster across the range. There is also powered front seats and an 8-speaker sound system.
Setting the Neta X from its rivals on the tech front too is for it to feature a 360º camera with transparent chassis function, built-in Spotify and a 60 W USB Type C port (that is powerful enough to charge even laptops).
All versions of the Neta X come equipped with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system that provides up to 3.3 kW to power accessories. Though interestingly, only the Luxury trims net the available Level 2 ADAS safety suite, which brings with it full-speed adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring with lane changing assist, door opening warning, rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist and emergency lane keep assist.
Stepping up to the Luxury trim also brings with it a powered tailgate, a wireless charging pad, a memory and welcome function for the powered driver’s seat.
Neta is currently offering this e-crossover in five exterior colours: Pearl White, Sky Grey, Jet Black, Glacier Blue and Amber Brown. Rather uniquely for this class of car too, there are to be two interior hues to choose from: the standard black and the optional brown.
All Neta X will come standard with a five-year/150,000-km vehicle warranty, in addition to an eight-year/180,000-km warranty for the electric drive components.
Customers who book one of these e-crossovers between now and 31st July 2024 will also be entitled to an additional subsidy that doubles the booking fee of RM1,000, a choice of either a complimentary wallbox or 2,500 kWh worth of ChargEV charging credits, in addition to a 2-year/40,000 km free maintenance package.
