Kia Carnival 7 Seater Version Malaysian Test Drive Impression

Kia Carnival Is A Haven Of Comfort And Convenience

This is the 2024 updated version of the Carnival and it brings with it new 19-inch black alloys to the 7 and 8-seater Carnivals, in place of the silver-painted 18-inchers that were on previously.

The other notable exterior alterations made to this very popular people-mover this time round is the removal of Sonic Silver as a paint option, which leaves Astra Blue, Meteor Gray, Jet Black and Snowflake White Pearl as the four available colours for this luxury MPV.

Interestingly, the award winning 7 and 8-seater Carnivals in 2024 now also feature a more sedate black and grey seat upholstery rather than the previously available caramel and black combination. In the same vein of sensibility though, this particular update has also added a Blind-spot View Monitor to the already extensive safety technology.

Open the doors to the Kia Carnival to find a futuristic space designed with simple shapes and three-dimensional effects achieved through available ambient lighting spanning the width of the dashboard.

Additionally, with the 7-seater variant you get Premium Relaxion seats, providing added convenience and versatility for passengers in that specific configuration.

The horizontally aligned information and climate controls on the center fascia are minimalist by design, as is the spacious center console with large capacity dual cup-holders that can accommodate a large beverage.

At the forefront, a curved panoramic dual-display features full digital instrumentation with an available 12.3-inch cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment display elegantly integrated into one single panel for an ultramodern appeal (wide panel with 4.2-inch TFT and 12-inch screen is standard).

Seven standard USB-C ports conveniently located throughout the cabin can help mobile devices stay charged for passengers in all three rows, while two power outlets, and two 115V inverters serve as additional power sources.

Unchanged is the Kia Carnival’s cavernous and flexible interior space for 7- or 8- passengers, maintaining its best-in-class 145.1 cubic feet of cargo room behind the first row. “Slide-Flex” seating for 8-passenger versions continues to allow multiple configurations with a sliding second row center seat that permit the front passenger easy access to a baby or child riding in it. Removable second-row seats and fold-in-floor third-row seats continue to be a Carnival staple.

If you think this is the family vehicle for you then head on down to the many Kia showrooms around the country and take a test drive with you family.

Best part of the standard safety and advanced safety features which includes 7 SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Multi-Collision Brake Control (MCB), ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor Points and Top Tethers as well as Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC).

The other non-safety but equally impressive tech toys featured within this minivan includes a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system and twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and central infotainment touchscreen up front with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, not to mention as well dual powered sunroofs and a pair of Smart Power Sliding doors.

So, if you are looking for a comfortable, fuel efficient large and luxurious multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), your options are extremely limited right now in the Malaysian market. Yes, you can buy the very popular Toyota Alphard from the reconditioned car importer (2020 model at RM255k or a newer 2022 model for RM330k) and if your budget is lower you can buy a brand new Nissan Serena at RM149,888 from Edaran Tan Chong motor.

However, if you need a proper 8 seat luxury MPV with ample luggage space to take a weekend holiday then this Carnival is your answer.
