Key highlights of the ID.UNYX include its distinctive, avant-garde design that integrates lifestyle elements such as a personalised 3D avatar through its Human-Machine Interface (HMI). This avatar, customizable via an app, enhances user interaction by serving as a digital companion within the vehicle.

Moreover, the ID.UNYX also boasts an impressive driving range of over 600 kilometres, addressing the practical needs of urban mobility. Stefan Mecha, CEO of Volkswagen Brand China, emphasises the strategic importance of the ID.UNYX in Volkswagen’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup, positioning it as pivotal in attracting a younger demographic while maintaining brand loyalty.

The launch of the ID.UNYX is part of Volkswagen’s broader plan to introduce a total of 34 new models in China by 2030, underscoring its commitment to leadership in the Chinese automotive market.

On top of that, manufactured at Volkswagen’s cutting-edge facility in Hefei, the ID.UNYX signifies a milestone in Volkswagen’s localised approach to innovation and development for smart EVs. The vehicle’s production at this facility reflects Volkswagen’s investment in local manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in China.

Looking ahead, Volkswagen plans to expand its ID.UNYX lineup with four additional models by 2026, encompassing both SUVs and sedans. This expansion is part of Volkswagen’s broader strategy to strengthen its product portfolio in China, which includes introducing new electric, combustion-engine, and plug-in hybrid models over the coming years.
