The Audi e-tron GT family has some noteworthy upgrades in its home market.
The Audi e-tron GT lineup just got a serious upgrade, so hopefully you didn’t just put money down on the outgoing model. Audi has unveiled new versions of its electric Gran Turismo models, significantly enhancing their range, charging capabilities, performance, and handling. Leading the pack is the brand’s first fully electric RS performance model – RS e-tron GT performance.
Audi e-tron GT Range and Charging Improvements
One of the biggest highlights is the improved driving range across the e-tron GT family. Thanks to a lighter yet higher-density battery pack, the maximum WLTP range now extends up to an impressive 609 km on a single charge.
But it’s not just about the range – Audi has also “turbo-charged” the charging performance. The maximum charging power has been boosted by 50kW to 320kW. At an ideal high-power charging station, the battery can juice up from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. Even a 10-minute charge can add up to 280 km of range.
Powerful Electric Quattro Performance
Performance was already a strong suit of the e-tron GT, but the new models take it to another level. The S e-tron GT now packs 679 PS, while the RS e-tron GT unleashes a monstrous 856 PS. But the star of the show is undoubtedly the RS e-tron GT performance with its earth-shattering 925 PS output – making it the most powerful production Audi ever.
The performance numbers are mind-blowing. The RS e-tron GT performance can rocket from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, while the regular RS e-tron GT takes 2.8 seconds. Even the ‘base’ S e-tron GT is no slouch, achieving the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds.
To handle all that power, Audi has given the e-tron GT family an upgraded braking system with optional tungsten carbide-coated discs and carbon-ceramic discs. The models also feature Audi’s latest electric quattro all-wheel drive system with a newly developed rear motor.
Cutting-Edge Chassis Technology
Audi has worked hard to improve the e-tron GT’s driving dynamics and comfort. A newly developed air suspension with active anti-roll bars comes standard, while an innovative active suspension system is optional.
Bold New Look Inside and Out
Complementing the mechanical upgrades is a bold new design language for the e-tron GT family, inside and out. The models feature Audi’s new two-dimensional corporate identity frontal design with redesigned bumpers and lighting signatures.
The interior has been revamped with new sports seats, steering wheels, trim options like carbon camouflage, and sustainable materials like recycled microfiber and fabric. A smart panoramic glass roof can switch between transparent and opaque at the touch of a button.
The range-topping RS e-tron GT performance stands out further with unique matte carbon camouflage exterior elements and an optional darkened carbon roof.
With its uncompromising performance, improved practicality, and cutting-edge tech, the upgraded Audi e-tron GT family is raising the bar for what an electric Gran Turismo can be. Audi has successfully blended electrification with the brand’s sporting pedigree to deliver a scintillating driving experience. The future of electric performance is looking very bright indeed.
