Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 4MATIC Facelift CKD Model Arrives With Electrified Powertrain

The Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 4MATIC facelift model arrives in showrooms in facelift form.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled the latest addition to its SUV lineup – the facelifted locally-assembled Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 4MATIC. This is a follow up to the pre-facelift model GLA 250, which was locally-assembled in late October 2021.

GLA 250 Gets Electrified Powertrain

Compared to the outgoing model, this one is a mild hybrid with an electric motor and all-wheel drive system. The 2.0L turbocharged petrol 4-cylinder engine still outputs exactly the same power and torque (224hp and 350Nm) but the peak torque now comes in from 2,000 rpm rather than 1,800 rpm.

The electric motor adds 10kW and 150Nm of EQ Boost, helping with fuel efficiency and bringing its century sprint time down by 1/10 of a second (6.8 seconds vs 6.9 seconds previously). The GLA 250 4MATIC gets an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and Mercedes-Benz’s intelligent 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.

Exterior Design: Sporty and Commanding

The GLA 250 4MATIC’s exterior design exudes confidence and athleticism. The AMG Line exterior package includes a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, a sleek bonnet with power domes, and a redesigned rear bumper with a diffuser for an enhanced sporty look.

The LED High Performance headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist and LED taillights create a modern light signature, while the 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels add to the vehicle’s dynamic presence. Buyers can also opt for the eye-catching Spectral Blue metallic paint finish.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Step inside, and the GLA 250 4MATIC’s interior impresses with its free-standing double screen featuring two 10.25-inch displays for the instrument cluster and multimedia system. Powered by the latest MBUX infotainment system, the displays offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, along with five fast-charging USB-C ports.

The sports seats are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather/MICROCUT microfibre, while the light longitudinal-grain aluminum trim adds a touch of luxury.

The multifunction sports steering wheel, wrapped in Nappa leather, provides access to the DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes, allowing drivers to customize the vehicle’s performance characteristics.

Comfort and convenience features include THERMATIC automatic climate control with two zones, ambient lighting with 64 colors, and the KEYLESS-GO Comfort package with HANDS-FREE ACCESS for easy loading and unloading.

Safety at the Forefront

Mercedes-Benz prioritizes safety with the GLA 250 4MATIC’s advanced driver assistance systems. Blind Spot Assist and Exit Warning Assist help drivers stay aware of their surroundings, while the Parking Package with reverse camera and Active Parking Assist make maneuvering in tight spaces a breeze.

The Sports Brake System and Active Brake Assist provide enhanced braking performance and collision prevention, while the GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection system offers added security when the vehicle is parked.

With its perfect blend of sporty performance, versatile utility, and cutting-edge technology, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 4MATIC is poised to be a standout choice for Malaysian drivers seeking an exceptional compact SUV experience.
