Chery Auto Malaysia is making good time building 10,000 vehicles so far
Chery Auto Malaysia has achieved a remarkable milestone by rolling out its 10,000th vehicle since entering into a partnership with Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd. This significant accomplishment, realised within just eight months of commencing operations at Inokom’s state-of-the-art 200-acre facility in Kulim, Kedah, highlights Chery Auto Malaysia’s dedication to growth and excellence in the local automotive industry.
The partnership between Chery Auto Malaysia and Inokom Corporation was formalised in May 2023, and the first batch of locally assembled Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro vehicles were delivered in August of the same year. This rapid timeline from partnership inception to substantial Production underscores the efficiency and strategic planning of both companies.
Moreover, adding to their achievements, Chery Auto Malaysia has commenced the assembly of the soon-to-be-launched Tiggo 7 Pro at the Kulim facility. Additionally, the brand is gearing up to introduce its all-electric vehicle, the Omoda E5, to the Production line, signalling its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive market.
With increasing demand and a positive market reception, Chery Auto Malaysia is taking significant steps to enhance its operations. The introduction of a second assembly line at the Kulim plant is a strategic move aimed at boosting Production efficiency.
This expansion will significantly increase assembly capacity, allowing the company to better meet the growing needs of Malaysian consumers while maintaining the highest standards of quality control for its Products and services.
Leo Chen, President of Chery Auto Malaysia, emphasised the company’s unwavering commitment to delivering safe and reliable vehicles, saying “Our focus has always been on delivering safe, reliable Products to our customers.” He reiterated that Chery Auto Malaysia is dedicated to upholding stringent quality assurance Processes as they expand their operations.
On top of that, Chen, who was in Kulim to launch the new Production line alongside Andrew Basham, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration with Inokom, saying, “The partnership with Inokom has been an exhilarating journey, and we hope it remains strong. We want to continue offering the best driving and ownership experience to our customers.”
The rapid success of Chery Auto Malaysia within such a short period is a testament to the company’s strategic vision and operational excellence. As they continue to expand and introduce new models, Chery Auto Malaysia is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of the Malaysian automotive industry, bringing innovative and high-quality vehicles to consumers.
