The BMW 218i Gran Coupe and two X3 models are now available in “Final Edition” guise in Malaysia.
The UKL2 based BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé was a pretty bold offering from BMW Malaysia. It first arrived during the pandemic year with an attractive price, loads of M Performance carbon fibre parts as options and an eye-catching design. It was interesting because it offered frameless windows and 4-door coupé styling but was priced to compete against the Mercedes-Benz A200 Sedan despite having ‘CLA’-like design features. Now it’s time for Malaysians to say goodbye as BMW Malaysia has launched a ‘Final Edition’ for this model along with ‘Final Editions’ of the X3 sDrive20i and X3 xDrive30e. The X3 facelift models arrived in early 2022 and an all new X3 is expected to make its global debut some time this year.
While there is no 2 Series replacement yet, BMW recently showed off a ‘new generation’ 1 Series model. Given how closely related the 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé are, we would not be surprised if a new 2 Series Gran Coupé is on the horizon.
