Is there a new pickup truck king on our roads or will the Isuzu D-Max underwhelm?
Since its debut in 2021, the third-generation Isuzu D-Max has epitomised excellence, with around 340,000 units sold globally. Known in Japanese as “Ryoga,” meaning “rising above others,” the D-Max has become one of the fastest-growing pick-up trucks, renowned for its superior design, advanced features, and cutting-edge safety.
The new 2024 Isuzu D-Max elevates these qualities further with stylish new looks and enhanced high-tech features. At the launch, Shunsuke Okazoe, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia, emphasised that the updated model combines striking design elements and advanced features to maintain its leading position in the market.
Moreover, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max introduces significant updates, particularly in its front and rear design elements, wheels, and interior. The front end features a new headlight cluster, bumpers, grille, and bonnet, enhancing its stylish appearance and improving aerodynamics as well as stylish new alloy rims, a revised tailgate and an attractive combination tail lamp design.
Inside, the flagship Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain boasts a 10-inch infotainment system, new leather seats, Japanese origami Miura design elements, and ambient lighting, among other updates. The X-Terrain is already known for its comprehensive suite of ADAS and ASEAN NCAP 5-star safety rating.
On top of that, the new model introduces a stereo camera with a wider 120° view, enhancing its ability to detect and recognize objects, including child pedestrians, for quicker and more accurate responses. Driveability has also improved with the new Rough Terrain Mode available in all 4×4 Double Cab models.
To enhance the customer experience, Isuzu Malaysia is also launching a new digital platform that leverages AR and VR. This allows potential buyers to explore the pickup truck’s features and capabilities from the comfort of their homes or in public spaces like malls and Isuzu Malaysia is conducting a nationwide launch of the new D-Max at its dealerships.
Customers who experience the VR or take a physical test drive of the new D-Max X-Terrain between 15 May and 30 June 2024, will receive an exclusive gift. Prices for the new D-Max start at RM98,949.20 for the 1.9-litre Single Cab, with the flagship X-Terrain priced at RM157,938.40 in Peninsular Malaysia.
