The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and GLC get smarter and more vibrant with this minor update.
The popular Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and estate along with the GLC SUV and Coupe are getting even more advanced with the integration of the latest MBUX infotainment system. This new multimedia system brings 5G connectivity for fast data speeds and an interactive entertainment experience.
Personalized with AI Smarts
Just about every tech company has to integrate AI in 2024 or be left behind, and now that Mercedes-Benz is moving in the direction of tech companies, one of the key new features is the ability for MBUX to learn driver preferences and automatically adjust convenience functions using artificial intelligence. You can set up routines like having the seat heaters activate below a certain temperature or romantic ambient lighting for date nights. The more you use the system, the smarter it gets at predicting your desired settings.
Install Third-Party Apps
For the first time, MBUX allows installation of third-party apps from categories like video streaming, conferencing, gaming, travel, and educational apps. These can be wirelessly downloaded from the Mercedes me Store and updated over-the-air. The tile-based homescreen has also been redesigned for an intuitive smartphone-like experience.
To make the most of the new app capabilities, Mercedes offers the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus option. This unlocks video and music streaming services, internet radio, and a data plan from select providers. The stellar Burmester 3D surround sound with Dolby Atmos is also included for an immersive audio experience.
Exterior Updates and Pricing
On the outside, the C-Class and GLC gain new paint options like MANUFAKTUR alpine grey uni (both models) and verde silver metallic (GLC only). A leather-free steering wheel is a first, enabling a fully vegan interior if desired.
The 2024 C-Class starts from around RM243,455.93 for the C-Class before taxes and duties while the GLC SUV begins at RM305,067.17 before taxes and duties. For now, these updated C-Class and GLC variants are only available in Germany but we have reason to believe the MBUX updates will trickle down to Malaysia before long. As for the new colour choices, that may be a different story altogether.
