Ducati Unveils Limited Edition Monster Senna Motorcycle Honoring F1 Legend
The Ducati Monster Senna is a new limited edition bike that honours the legendary F1 racer.
Ducati has released a stunning limited edition Monster Senna motorcycle as a tribute to the extraordinary career of Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna. The Monster Senna is a collector’s item, with only 341 units produced – 3 signifying Senna’s Formula 1 World Titles and 41 representing his remarkable 41 Grand Prix wins.
Celebrating Ducati’s Bond with Ayrton Senna
The special livery of the Monster Senna was designed by Ducati’s Centro Stile, drawing inspiration from the iconic yellow, green and blue colorway of Senna’s helmet. This vibrant color scheme pays homage to the Brazilian flag and Senna’s national pride.
The Monster was a natural choice for this commemorative edition, as Senna was one of the very first owners of the original Monster 900 back in 1993. He was drawn to the bike’s simple yet sporty concept, perfect for enjoying the pure thrill of riding.
Unveiled at Imola’s Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit
Ducati presented the Monster Senna to the world at the renowned Imola Circuit during the Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 Grand Prix. Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, Bianca Senna of Senna Brands, and F1 President Stefano Domenicali commemorated the special bond between the motorcycle brand and the racing legend.
A Storied History Between Ducati and Senna
Ducati’s connection with Ayrton Senna dates back to 1990 when Ducati’s then-owner Claudio Castiglioni gifted the three-time world champion an 851 SP. In the following years, Senna and Ducati realized their shared values, culminating in the iconic Ducati 916 Senna in 1994 – a limited run of 300 units featuring Senna’s personal livery choice.
Tragically, Senna passed away before the 916’s release, but Ducati proceeded with the project to honor his memory. Subsequent limited Senna editions followed in 1997, 1998 and 2014, cementing Senna’s lasting legacy with Ducati.
Top-Spec Performance and Collectible Design
The Monster Senna boasts premium components like fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension, forged wheels, and Brembo brakes. Weighing just 175kg, it’s one of the lightest Monsters yet. Each bike features special details like numbered triple clamps, a unique seat, and Termignoni carbon fiber exhausts.
