Stop Having Events To Show Just ONE EV Charging Point

We have stopped attending EV charging points unveilings at office car parks, malls and even showrooms

It seems like Malaysian businesses who venture in having a (1 only) charging point at the office car park, shopping mall, hotel and even showroom just want to ‘show’ that they are going ‘GREEN” for media reporting and have no intention to really be ‘GREEN’.

We say this because they waste so much money by hiring a public relations team, a catering company and an events team to have an unveiling of just one (if we are lucky there might be 2) charging point at their premise.

They try and get as many media people to attend and this is real waste of resources and its simply a PR exercise and nothing else.

EV Charging

We, www.dsf.my have stopped attending these events for the following reasons.

  1. We want to reduce our carbon footprint and so our editorial staff and videographer is not burning fuel getting to and fro the event location.
  2. We are not wasting the resource 2 to 3 hours waiting and travel time of 2 people.
  3. We are reducing our overhead costs as there is no fuel, parking and maybe toll charges.
  4. Best of all, the PR team will definitely send us the pictures and a release with flowery language for us to publish.
  5. Honestly, how many people actually want to read about this, since it is only more a gimmick.

Meanwhile, if there is an invite for a proper EV charging station with at least 6 or more parking bays and a combination of AC and DC charging points, then this is news that needs to be shared with EV drivers so that they know where to charge their vehicles when on the go.

So, lets try and have less vehicles on the road daily to reduce traffic congestion and emissions and be smart about having events just to ‘bang on your chest’!

Imagine this. Would fuel stations like BHPetrol and Caltex have media events every time they add an extra fuel pump at an existing station?
