This is not even the first time the GAC Aion claimed this award either
GAC has just been launched in Malaysia and the GAC Aion electric vehicle (EV) model has once again claimed the top spot in the China Automobile Brand Quality Ranking for New Energy Vehicles. So this means that the brand does not need to try too hard to sell this car because its quality speaks for itself.
The number 1 position on the ranking for GAC, which is among China’s most authoritative and influential, reflects our commitment to quality and technology in delivering safe, reliable, and high-performance driving experiences. It looks like the brand is indeed off to a good start here in Malaysia.
Moreover, after winning this monumental achievement, GAC also extended its heartfelt gratitude to its community of over 1 million car owners for their ongoing trust and support. Together, the brand aims to continue driving towards a future powered by electrifying innovation.
We already know that the government of Malaysia is also pushing very hard for electrification and EVs as well as NEVs here in Malaysia and are (for now at least) allowing for the sale of EVs without any additional taxes like the ones we pay for internal combustion engine (ICE) models in the country.
With this, we also know that GAC is more than ready to start sales here in Malaysia as we have seen the brand testing some cars with camo on them as well as a few units already in the country so it can also begin deliveries, though I do not think the brand has nearly enough units in the country for the number of orders they may receive.
On top of that, it is no secret that the whole world is already moving away from the traditional ICE powertrain and are now focusing heavily on EVs with Toyota being the only one that is also focusing on hybrids and hydrogen tech in addition to the electric variant as well.
So, we know that electrification cannot be stopped at this point so we may as well choose EVs that are both practical and affordable as luxury EVs cost way too much and don’t offer any substantial range which will make them impossible to use in Malaysia given our lack of charging infrastructure.
GAC, unlike these luxury brands, has offerings of many different prices and all of which offer a good range for the price, so let’s see if the brand succeeds here.
