Here is why we think you should consider the Proton S70
I recently drove the new sedan from our national carmaker, Proton, the S70 and I enjoyed this car for so many reasons. So I thought I would share 5 reasons why I think you should consider this car for a test drive. Now before I start, I will preface by saying all these apply to the Executive trim level S70 which costs RM73,800.
First and foremost, the Proton S70 comes with a Geely based turbocharged 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine that is not only powerful but also efficient. This engine was able to take us (3 adults and all our luggage for a 3 day trip) on a full tank from Subang to Penang and still had well over a quarter of a tank left when we reached Penang with no fuel stops in between.
Moreover, the Proton S70 is fast but also affordable. Now being a 1.5-litre, the road tax one pays for this car is only RM90 annually. Despite this, the power from the turbocharged engine in the car is so good that you can always go up Genting Highlands without struggle even if the boot is full and all the seats are occupied.
Speaking of which, another reason the Proton S70 deserves a test drive is that the car is not only powerful and fun to drive, but it is also very practical. The boot of the car is 500L which means it has more than enough space for 5 people’s luggage for a weekend trip and more while the cabin is very spacious even for 5 adults.
On top of that, the Proton S70 is also extremely safe and we all know how important safety is when driving. While only the top spec variants sport ADAS features we are used to like autonomous braking and lane keep assist, the Proton S70 also comes with all the bells and whistles like seat belt warning and more on all variants.
The Proton S70 is also filled with all the most convenient technology anyone could ask for in a car. Being a modern family car, there are many USB ports both for passengers in the rear cabin as well as the occupants in the front, which ensures that your devices will always stay fully charged even on longer trips.
So is all this plus the very handsome styling of the Proton S70 enough for you to consider test driving it today?
