The Honda City Hatchback gets its facelift and some Thai-market specific changes.
The Honda City Hatchback has undergone a facelift in Thailand, just a little over three years since its initial global debut as the replacement to the Jazz. This latest update brings a host of enhancements, including refined styling cues and upgraded features, drawing inspiration from its sedan counterpart’s recent makeover.
Embracing a sleeker aesthetic, the City Hatchback takes cues from its sedan sibling with a slender chrome bar adorning the upper grille. However, the revamped grille also boasts a distinct mesh insert design which sets it apart from the sedan version.
Noteworthy changes extend to the front bumper. On the non-RS variant, it features more defined creases surrounding the trim area while the RS version gets a prominent fog lamp garnish and a honeycomb mesh lower intake, augmented by additional trim elements.
Turning attention to the rear, non-RS models showcase black trim accents in the lower apron, while RS editions boast a sporty flair with the addition of a diffuser-like element, complemented by black side mirrors and unique variant-specific emblems.
Also worth noting is the new colour option – Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, which is exclusively available on the RS model as a two-tone paint job with a black roof.
While the exterior receives a notable refresh, the interior of the hatchback remains largely unchanged. The biggest change here comes in the form of two USB-C charging ports for the rear occupants but this is only on the e:HEV variants. There’s also a new inner pocket for smartphones on the seatbacks on the hybrid cars.
Besides that there’s a new Low-Speed Follow (LSF) function for the ACC and we’ll probably see similar Honda Connect integration to what was done with the sedan models here when it arrives.
There was just a short 3 month gap between the global reveal of the City sedan’s facelift and its local debut, so it’s likely we’ll see this model arrive in Malaysia this year.
