These DRB-Hicom graduates obtained their phD, degrees, diplomas and more
DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (“DRBHU”) today celebrated the academic achievements and successes of 524 students at its 8th Convocation ceremony. The full-day event took place at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Chancellery Hall, within the campus of DRBHU in Pekan, Pahang.
The Chairman of the university’s Board of Governors, Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar presided over the morning session, while Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Sr. Dr. Omar Osman presided over the afternoon session.
Moreover, the 8th Convocation ceremony witnessed the achievements of three PhD graduates, while 16 graduates received their Master’s Degrees and 187 candidates were conferred with Bachelor’s Degrees. In addition to that, 107 candidates received Diplomas, 16 were recognised for Foundation programmes, 161 for Professional programmes, and 34 candidates received their respective Skills’ Certificates.
At the same event, Abdullah Hakim Roslan, a Bachelor of Islamic Banking and Finance graduate who obtained a CGPA of 3.99, was presented with the coveted Chancellor’s Award. This was based on his exceptional academic achievement, as well as leadership qualities and active involvement in co-curricular activities.
Meanwhile, the Chairman’s Award was presented to Bachelor of Information Technology graduate Mohamad Aliff Iskandar Nahar, who scored a CGPA of 3.98. The Vice Chancellor’s Award went to Affandy Abdul Wahab, a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Aerospace Composite Manufacturing graduate, who achieved a CGPA score of 3.97.
On top of that, Book Prizes were also awarded to 17 outstanding graduates. In his speech, Prof. Dato’ Sr. Dr. Omar highlighted that DRBHU had surpassed the Ministry of Higher Education’s SETARA rating system’s accreditation targets, securing a COMPETITIVE rating which is the highest for higher education institutions.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted that DRBHU had conferred degrees for the first batch of 24 Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Aerospace Composite Manufacturing graduates.
Prof. Dato’ Sr. Dr. Omar also noted that new academic programmes aligned with emerging trends such as electric vehicles (EVs), new energy sources, fintech, electronics and semiconductors, unmanned vehicles, and aerospace engineering technologies are being added in the near future.
DRBHU continues to expand its educational reach and has recently strengthened its collaboration with Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah for postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The university’s Technical Training Institute has also continued to grow, having developed new programmes such as Sustainability Catalysts, Empowering ESG Practices, Professional Diploma in Industrial Relations, Supervisory Programme Series, as well as Coaching and Mentoring programmes.
