The Porsche Taycan receives an extensive update after finding 150,000 customers worldwide.
Porsche is pushing the Taycan forward for 2025 with a list of enhancements. The latest revision arrives for the 2025 model year with changes to both body styles (Taycan sports sedan and Taycan Cross Turismo) and a huge list of enhancements.
2025 Taycan Performance Upgrades
The new Taycan models are now faster on the lowest and highest performance tiers. The rear-wheel drive Taycan sedans sprint from 0-100km/h in 0.6 seconds less time while the Taycan Turbo S sedan is faster to 100km/h by 0.3 seconds. This makes it the fastest accelerating production car that Porsche has ever offered.
With the Sport Chrono package, you get a new “push-to-pass” function which gives the Taycan between 60-70kW of additional power for 10 seconds. With Launch Control the top-spec Turbo S model gets an additional 140kW, making it the most powerful production Porsche to date.
Faster Charging & Improved Efficiency
The charging system of the new Taycan models get a big boost as well. In the right conditions, 320kW DC Fast Charging can be achieved, which is 50kW more than before. The models also get a 150kW DC/DC converter as standard. This allows the Taycan to charge from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 18 minutes. This is despite also getting a lighter and more energy dense base battery as well as a larger 105kWh Performance Battery Plus option, up from 93kWh.
Also improved is the overall efficiency of the Taycan thanks to new rear-axle motors, improvements to the pulse inverter, thermal management, brake regen recuperation, a new heat pump, and software optimizations across the board. They’re also using aero-optimised wheels with specially-developed low rolling resistance tyres.
A New Taycan Look & “Feel”
The new Taycan models all get adaptive air suspension and the all-wheel drive models can option in the new Porsche Active Ride suspension as well, which promises to absorb bumps almost completely as well as compensating for pitching and rolling motions.
In terms of looks, there are new headlights and taillights while the front fenders have also seen re-sculpting. Headlights now come with high-resolution LED HD Matrix Design with detailed optics. The Porsche logo on the rear now has a 3D glass look to it with the option for an illuminated badge for the first time, and this comes with welcome/leaving animations.
