This third-generation MINI Countryman C will be available with a petrol, diesel or fully electric powertrain
MINI is describing the performance levels of its petrol engines for the MINI Countryman with C and, as a more powerful model, with S.
Amazingly a diesel variant is also available and Mini is yet to share specifications of the diesel powerplant.
Meanwhile, with the MINI Countryman C, the brand combines a high level of driving comfort and spacious room with an efficient 3-cylinder petrol engine.
With an output of 170 hp, the entry-level model accelerates in 8.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 212 km/h. With 280 Nm of torque and efficient TwinPower Turbo technology, the vehicle has the necessary power and spontaneity for brand-typical driving pleasure.
The integrated mild hybrid technology is used to recover braking energy and supports the internal combustion engine during accelerations with 14 kW electric drive power. This reduces the consumption and emissions of the MINI Countryman C.
PRESS RELEASE: The new MINI Countryman is 13 centimeters longer and eight centimeters higher than its predecessor. The upright silhouette with clearly designed surfaces and the redesigned octagonal front grille contribute to the model’s superior appearance.
The reduced body design with delicate contours gives the model a sleek appearance. Typical of the brand, short overhangs underline the agile vehicle character. Distinctive LED headlights and rear lights accentuate the body design with optional new light signatures.
The MINI Countryman Electric is a major step in the MINI brand’s transition to full electrification by 2030 and combines an electrified go-kart feel with a reduced environmental footprint.
In developing the new model, the MINI brand’s responsible attitude was very much in the focus with regard to materials and production: chrome no longer features anywhere in the interior or exterior, and the light-metal alloy wheels are cast from up to 70 percent secondary aluminium. The permanently electrically excited synchronous motors are highly efficient and made entirely without rare earth minerals.
The interior is made purely from innovative, high-quality materials that are easy on the environment. The dashboard, door facias, floor covering and foot mats, for example, are made of recycled textiles.
A high-quality alternative to conventional materials such as plastics, recycled textiles reduce CO2 emissions along the value chain and require less water to manufacture.
