KYMCO AK550 Scooter Lands In Malaysia For RM65,600, Is It For You?

The KYMCO AK550 also comes in two sporty and aggressive colours to choose from

KYMCO, together with Edaran Modenas sdn bhd (EMOS) and DRB-Hicom have officially made their entry to the Malaysian market with the all-new KYMCO AK550 scooter. With two sporty colours, many tech features as well as incredible styling this CBU scooter is ready to make waves on our roads, will you be a part of it?

Okay, so what do you get for your RM65,600, after all, this is a steep amount for a motorcycle? One could get a Perodua Myvi for that money. Well, unlike the king of our roads, the KYMCO AK550 offers a 550.4 cc 2 cylinder engine with 4 valves per piston for 8 total valves which is just far more fun than any car engine to rev.

Moreover, the engine of the KYMCO AK550 uses a liquid cooling system to keep its performance running and also, similar to a Toyota GR86 or GT86, the scooter also boasts a perfect 50-50 weight distribution. This will go a long way in helping the scooter around corners at speed and make the whole ride more enjoyable.

However, despite all this, the star of the show in the KYMCO AK550 is definitely the front upside down fork suspension that offers a smoother ride, while keeping the scooter planted firmly on the ground. It also comes with a dual disc Brembo front caliper brake and a 15L fuel tank as well.

With all this going for it, the KYMCO AK550 takes things up a notch with its aggressive styling and two colour options, namely Black and Flat Brown, both of which look good on the scooter and exude a quiet confidence and complement its 785mm seat height very well.

On top of that, the KYMCO AK550 also comes with keyless start, a digital meter with all the relevant information to mitigate distractions while riding without taking away from the modern aspect. The full LED tail lights and headlights with their sharp and sleek design also look very nice on the scooter.

Aside from that the KYMCO AK550 also comes in 2 riding modes, namely rain and full power so riders can have full confidence in any situation. This is further accentuated by the very captivating engine sound of the scooter which despite the rather steep asking price is well worth every penny.

So what do you guys think? Is this the scooter for you? Or will you be like everyone else and opt for the King instead? I know where my money is going.
