Honda Malaysia Surpassed Sales Target In 2023, Remains No.1 Non-National Passenger Vehicle Brand

Honda Malaysia shared to day that it surpassed its annual sales target for 2023, recording over 80,000 units in total sales. This remarkable feat not only solidified the company’s standing as the No.1 player in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the tenth consecutive year but also marked a year of gradual recovery and positive growth.

New Models Propel Success

The year 2023 witnessed the successful launch of four new models, namely the WR-V, City, Civic Type R, and All-New CR-V, in the second half of the year. These additions to the Honda lineup played a pivotal role in achieving the impressive sales figures.

Contributing significantly to Honda Malaysia’s success were the top-selling models in 2023 – City, HR-V, and City Hatchback, accounting for 30%, 25%, and 13% of the overall sales, respectively. The WR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Civic also secured the No.1 position in their respective segments.

Honda Malaysia MD and CEO

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, expressed gratitude to dealers, the Malaysian Government, and loyal customers for their unwavering support in overcoming the challenges of a competitive market. Despite the hurdles, the company successfully achieved its sales targets.

Trends In Honda’s Portfolio

A standout success story for Honda Malaysia in 2023 was the launch of the WR-V in July. This iconic small SUV, particularly the RS variant, contributed significantly, accounting for 60% of total sales. Within the first six months of launch, the WR-V sold more than 7,800 units, showcasing its immense popularity in the Malaysian market.
