BMW Unveils Locally Assembled X5 xDrive50e Estimated At RM530k

BMW unveiled its new X5 SUV at its newest Auto Bavaria Balakong showroom

With 2023 being one of the most successful years for BMW Malaysia, the brand has kicked off 2024 on a very high note as well. Could this year see the brand break more records again? Let’s hope so. Having delivered over 15,000 units of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles last year, the brand has their work cut out for them this year.

Of course, kicking off the year of the dragon with ultimate power, the brand not only opened its brand new Auto Bavaria Balakong showroom, which the brand invested RM100 million in, it also made a powerful statement by previewing the locally-assembled BMW X5 xDrive50e SUV there as well.

Moreover, while no final price has been announced seeing as the BMW X5 xDrive50e has only been previewed and not launched yet, the brand estimates that the vehicle should set one back about RM530,000 when it does hit showrooms for booking. Do check out my Instagram linked here to see some of the cooler features of the car.

Powered by a 3.0-litre TwinPower turbocharged inline 6 engine and paired to an electric motor is a hybrid SUV in M Sport trim that has a WLTP electric only range of about 110km and makes 489hp and 700Nm of torque which allows this spacious family SUV to sprint to 100km/h from standstill in just 4.8 seconds.

Naturally, being a newer BMW model, the X5 xDrive50e also comes with the new BMW curved twin screen setup on the inside, this one is a 14.9-inch unit too. The gear selector has also been replaced by the rocker switch and features the brand’s operating system 8.5 including Live Cockpit Professional and a Harmon Kardon sound system.

On top of that, standard features on the BMW X5 xDrive50e include the brand’s Comfort Access, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Professional. Available exterior colours include Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey as well as the “Merino” interior upholstery, in either black or Tartufo (brown).

Wish to check out this stunning SUV in person? You can now do so at the newly opened Auto Bavaria Balakong showroom which will have this new model on display and trust me when I say, this is the kind of beauty you need to see in person to truly appreciate so do check it out as soon as you can.
