Stellantis Malaysia Managing Director Jamie Morais Is A Malaysian

Since the appointment of Jamie Morais as the MD of Stellantis in Malaysia there has been speculation that this Malaysian born was a European and not Malaysian

With more than 19 years of regional automotive roles in Toyota Motor Europe, Nissan Japan, BMW Malaysia, Proton and now with Stellantis in Malaysia, (which is the world’s fourth largest automotive group), Jamie Francis Morais is a Malaysian born success story who wants to elevate the Peugeot brand (and soon all the other Stellantis brands) in Malaysia with a larger portfolio of models which includes new electric variants.

By 2024, Stellantis Malaysia Managing Director, Jamie Morais will have the all new Peugeot 408 in Malaysia which will be followed by the all electric Peugeot e-2008 and then we will see a revised Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck being assembled in at the Stellantis factory in Gurun, Kedah.

If you didn’t know this, back in November 2021, Stellantis solidified their commitment in Malaysia by securing full ownership of Naza Automotive Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and its plant in Gurun, Kedah.

This plant in Gurun has been since the take over and will continue assembling Peugeot vehicles for export to the region as the Stellantis Malaysia office will be taking care of 18 countries in the ASIA region.

This shows the importance of Jamie Morais’s position as the MD of Stellantis Malaysia and the massive investment from Stellantis into Malaysia in the coming years.

Please take note that the rest of the Stellantis ‘family’ of automotive brands will be coming to town and you can start saving up for your long forgotten favorite car brands like Alfa Romeo and Fiat to name a few.

Stellantis family includes Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, RAM, Vauxhall and of course Peugeot.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with this strategic change, Bermaz Auto Alliance (BAA), a 55 percent owned subsidiary of Bermaz Auto Berhad (Bermaz Auto) and the current distributor for Peugeot in Malaysia, will in the meantime continue to work with Stellantis for vehicle sales through its own network.

So, Peugeot owners please do not worry as your after sales and warranty programs will continue without any issue.
